چکیده

Skeletal muscle is critical for human health. Protein feeding, alongside resistance exercise, 12 is a potent stimulus for muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and is a key factor that regulates skeletal 13 muscle mass (SMM). The main purpose of this narrative review was to evaluate the latest evidence 14 for optimising the amino acid or protein source, dose, timing, pattern and macronutrient coingestion 15 for increasing or preserving SMM in healthy young and healthy older adults. We used a systematic 16 search strategy of PubMed and Web of Science to retrieve all articles related to this review objective. 17 In summary, our findings support the notion that protein guidelines for increasing or preserving 18 SMM are more complex than simply recommending a total daily amount of protein. Instead, 19 multifactorial interactions between protein source, dose, timing, pattern and macronutrient 20 coingestion, alongside exercise, influence the stimulation of MPS, and thus should be considered in 21 the context of protein recommendations for regulating SMM. To conclude, on the basis of currently 22 available scientific literature, protein recommendations for optimising SMM should be tailored to 23 the population or context of interest, with consideration given to age and resting/post resistance 24 exercise conditions. 25

THE EFFECTS OF INTERVAL TRAINING INTENSITY ON SKELETAL MUSCLE PGC-1Α IN TYPE2 DIABETIC MALE RATS

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a 12 weeks interval training with high and moderate intensity on PGC-1α of skeletal muscle in type 2 diabetic male rats. Methods: 40 male rats were divided into two groups: High fat diet (HFD) (n=32) and standard diet (C) (n=8) for 10 weeks. After inducing type2 diabetes via STZ, 8 diabetic rats (D) and 8 rats in group C rats ...

The effect of 8 weeks endurance exercise on the content of total and phosphorylated AKT1, mTOR, P70S6K1 and 4E-BP1 in skeletal muscle FHL of rats with type 2 diabetes

Introduction: The mTOR pathway in skeletal muscle plays a very important role in the protein synthesis process, which plays a very important role in proteins. The role of endurance exercise has not yet been studied in this important pathway in protein synthesis in people with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks endurance training on the con...

Biomonitoring the skeletal muscle metabolic dysfunction in knee osteoarthritis in older adults: Is Jumpstart Nutrition® Supplementation effective?

Background: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of Jumpstart Nutrition® dietary supplement (JNDS) for enhancing the skeletal muscle metabolism and function of older adults with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) by evaluating the biomarkers of aberrant levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-10 (IL-10), C-reactive protein (CRP), creatine kinase-muscle (CK-MM), and aldol...

Comparison of the Alterations of Gene Expression Related to Signaling Pathways of Synthesis and Degradation of Skeletal Muscle Protein Induced by Two Exercise Training Protocols

Background and Objectives: Skeletal muscle mass depends on the balance between synthesis and degradation of muscle protein, which changes with aging and disease. The aim of the present reserch was to examine the effects of two exercise training protocols on alterations of some genes involved in pathways of protein synthesis and degradation in order to achieve a more effective training program i...
